 HB 4309 Inter-local Coop. 6/17/11   Support Resolution Adopted   Amend PA 57 of 1988.  A newly incorporated an authority will not be bound by existing labor contracts of the employees transferred to the authority
HB 4310 Inter-local Coop. 6/17/11   Support Resolution Adopted   Amend the Metropolitan Transportation Authorities Act of 1967 (MCL 124.413) to eliminate existing labor union agreements, and to revise the content of labor contracts.
HB 4311  Inter-local Coop.  6/17/11   Support Resolution Adopted   Amend Public Act 8 of the 1967 Extra Session (MCL 124.534), which provides for intergovernmental transfers of functions and responsibilities, to eliminate existing labor union agreements, and to revise the content of labor contracts. 
HB 4312 Inter-local Coop.  6/17/11  Support   Resolution Adopted   Amend the Urban Cooperation Act of 1967 (MCL 124.505) to eliminate existing labor union agreements and to revise the content of labor contracts when inter-local govt agreements combine services.

    Continuing to evaluate active and expiring memberships.

    Finalized the March 2012 Advanced Accounting and Oct 2012 Advanced Debt day long classes and exploring a class on Grant Accounting and Reporting and an Introduction class for new MGFOA members and those new to government finance.

    Monitoring all GASB exposure drafts: Recently this includes discussions and responses on Pension Reporting (amending GASB 25 & 27);  Reporting of Items Previously Recognized as Assets and Liabilities and reviewing the GASB Proposal: Financial Projections for Assessing Economic Condition of Governments.

  • Strategic Planning Committee

    Chair - Mike O'Connell, Wayne Co. Dept. of Management & Budget
    Refining MGFOA's role in long-term leadership issues, both internally and externally and evaluating the Executive Director position.
