Michigan Statewide GIS Business Plan Wrap-up Meeting
MGFOA members may recall from prior news postings that in April 2010, the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget's Center for Shared Solutions and Technology Partnerships (CSSTP) hosted a series of summits around the state to gather information from organizations and individuals using spatial technology.
The purpose of these meetings was to gather input and ideas about how communities can work together to realize statewide, base geospatial data that is perpetually maintained, of ascertainable quality, useable and readily accessible. Five meetings were held across the state in the spring and early summer of 2010. Over a dozen MGFOA member organizations participated in the input process.
Recently the Michigan National Spatial Data Infrastructure Business and Transportation Stewardship Project has been completed with the posting of the Statewide GIS Business Plan and Transportation Data Stewardship Enhancement Plan to the project web site.
Several members of the GIS community that participated in the process that culminated in the creation of these documents have requested an opportunity to be presented a summary of the recommendations and to ask questions about the recommendations and next steps. In response to those requests we have scheduled a web conference for Thursday, December 2 at 11:15 AM. The conference details are provided below.
If you are unable to participate in the conference but have questions feel free to contact Martin Roche via email or phone
