Accounting Controller, Orion Twp

Position performs a variety of financial reporting and accounting and control functions such as maintaining journals and ledgers, preparation of internal and external audit schedules and required documents, providing management with information vital to the decision-making process, performing reconciliations, maintaining records of fixed assets, preparing and recording financial and budget records and reports, management of pension plans and related audit functions. Monitors and implements internal control processes for cash receipting, accounts payable, payroll, audits, and budget compliance.

The job requires knowledge normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (at discretion of Township Board of Trustees, a candidate with substantiated experience and technical training may be considered in lieu of education.). Five (5) years of experience in accounting. Municipal accounting experience and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred.

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, Level 8 Technical Unit union position with an hourly wage of $26.06 - $33.67 per hour depending on experience, plus benefits. Approved applicant must pass a complete physical and drug screening along with background check.
