Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Works with departments in analyzing operations and identifying alternative service levels.
- Uses a computer with word processing, spreadsheet and database software to write a wide range of letters and reports and to perform needed analysis.
- Verifies accuracy of budget submissions, and ensures these recommendations conform to policy guidelines.
- Prepares budget recommendations for departments as assigned.
- Attends budget hearings, and researches and prepares special reports.
- Serves as a liaison between the Budget Division and City departments in preparation of departmental budget requests and the management of the approved City budget.
- Provides explanations and directions regarding budget preparation
- Provides technical assistance to finance staff and other departments as assigned
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance or a related field
- And two (2) years of experience in government fiscal administration and budget analysis which includes the use of spreadsheet, word processing and data base computer software
- Or an equivalent combination of training and experience
