Deputy Budget Director, City of Detroit

The Deputy Budget Director is an executive-level position that, under the direction of the Deputy CFO/Budget Director, leads and manages the general operations of the Office of Budget within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO). The OCFO is the centralized financial management department for the City of Detroit, which was restructured following the City’s 2013-2014 municipal bankruptcy.

The Deputy Budget Director reports to the Deputy CFO/Budget Director, oversees all aspects of the annual budget development and monitoring process, and supervises the Office of Budget management team. The Deputy Budget Director is an at-will position and the incumbent is appointed by the Chief Financial Officer. All executives must possess the following Executive Core Qualifications and Competencies: leading change; leading people; business acumen; building coalitions; and being results driven.
