DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING & BUDGET
FINANCE DEPARTMENT

The City of Portage, located in Kalamazoo County, is seeking a highly responsible individual for the position of Deputy Director of Accounting & Budgeting. The selected candidate will provide leadership to Accounting/Payables Supervisor and staff. Responsibilities for this professional supervisory position include supervision of accounts payable, budget preparation, payroll processing, financial reporting and audit monitoring.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated problem solving and planning skills and have experience performing in demanding circumstances. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or municipal finance, business, public administration or a related field. Five years of related experience and/or training with knowledge of local, state and federal laws related to public finance administration; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA certification preferred.
