Pontiac, MI (pop. 60,984) – Located in Oakland County, Michigan at the crossroads of Woodward Ave., M-59 and
Telegraph Road, a short distance from Detroit and Flint, Pontiac is the Heart of Oakland County! The first settlers arrived
in what is now the City of Pontiac in 1818 at the crossroads of the Saginaw Indian Trail (now Woodward/Dixie Highway)

Reporting directly to the Mayor/Deputy Mayor, the Finance Director has overall supervisory and administrative
responsibilities pertaining to the administration and implementation of the functions of the Finance Department. The
Finance Director shall be responsible for ensuring that all the duties and responsibilities of the Finance Department, as
identified in the Code of Ordinances, are executed in a fair and legal matter.

The Finance Director plans and directs the City’s fiscal policies. The position oversees a total budget of over $100 million
in expenditures from 24 funds, including a $54 million General Fund. The position manages the functions of treasury,
budget, accounting, payables and receivables, and income tax. The total employee count supervised by the position is up
to seven positions.
