Legislative Committee

Chairpersons: Peter MacGregor and Brodie Killian

The Legislative Committee focuses on public sector concerns relative to issues and programs which affect local units of government. The Committee monitors and analyzes proposed and existing legislation; keeps the membership advised of the consequences of legislative initiatives; recommends policy positions to the MGFOA Board of Directors; proposes legislation and legislative amendments; provides technical assistance in drafting legislation in areas of interest to finance officials; facilitates smooth implementation of law and policy: maintains communication with the membership, local government units and associations, state legislators, and appropriate state agencies.
