Information MGFOA Privacy Policy

MGFOA collects two kinds of information at our website: 1) Data that users volunteer by taking surveys, information added to member profiles, or signing up to receive news or event information; and 2) Aggregated tracking data we collect when users browse our website.

No personal information is collected from visitors who simply browse our website.

Personal Information

Information volunteered by members or non-members, such as survey information or event registrations, is collected by us and is used for the purpose of distributing MGFOA material and event notices to attendees or members. If you supply us with your postal address, you may receive periodic mail and e-mail from us with information on upcoming events. If you do not want to receive such mailings from us in the future, please let us know by contacting us at the telephone number, mailing address or email address provided below. It is MGFOA’s policy to not sell or rent your email address or other personally identifiable information you provide us.

Aggregated tracking information

We analyze the use of our site by tracking information such as browser type, type of operating system, and pages visited on the site. The sole purpose of collecting this information is to improve our site. None of this information identifies you personally (for instance, we do not know your name or your email address).

Many websites make use of a technology called “cookies”. On the web, a cookie is a small packet of information stored on your computer by the website in order to uniquely identify you across multiple sessions.

We do use “session cookies”. A session cookie does not store any files on your hard drive, but does hold a piece of information within the temporary memory of your browser that allows us to provide advanced functionality such as login status, search and sort functionality. All session cookies disappear when you close your browser or leave the MGFOA website.

We do not partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies.
